Thorley and flowmaster 60,Quiet?

Finally I bit the bullet and ordered my the Doug Thorley header from Amazon,$50 cheaper there because of the outrageous shipping charged from DT $40, compared to 3.99 Overnight shipping!

Anyway paired header with a Flowmaster 60 delta flow muffler at 2.25in. Going to get header put on Sunday and rest of system will be put on Monday.

Just curious if you guys think about how loud this will be? You think I need to add a louvered glasspack in to quiet things down more?

I spent 600 on my DT headers. 150 on my muffler, 25 on my exhaust tip and 150 to get it all welded up on my 3.0.

Well all installed and to be completely honest, I'm pretty disappointed. I would rather it be completely quiet, than to have this friggen rice-burner sound I got now. Fine at idle and under small load, but when you get on it all I can see in my mind is all those little riceburner cars I want to take the ar too and get rid of. you guys got any ideas on what I can do to get rid of this!

add a resonator to the system - basically a 2nd muffler.

What he said... Probably the only way to quiet it down at this point... does it at least "feel" better...? You may want to double check that all the welds are good and there are no leaks also check to make sure its not close to other things that could cause a vibration, since that could cause the rice effect... just get it dialed so you wont me disappointed.

you know the riceburner cars you speak of AND yotas are japanese.

guess you can fix it OR take the ar to it and get rid of now that it sounds like them, like you said...

guess you had no clue flowmasters are loud?

NAh never could ar it! think I will have to add a resonator though, I looked at everything and it looks pretty damn good. I didn't have any clue flowaster was so loud lol it was the mild, I can only imagine what the agressive would sound like lol. Never had one before. I am sure the headers are not helping at all either. It's got potential, just need to find the setup!

i'd take the flowie off and sell it.

put a quiet muffler on if thats what you want, but i would listen to different mufflers till you hear what you want. just my .02

probably be cheaper than the flowie too.
