Thinking about buying another 4runner. Have some questions
I currently have a 85 4 runner. I really have no need for a solid axel and would assume the ifs front end has a lot more comfortable of a ride. Which is what I'm looking for now.
I would like to swap over the 35's I have now and do a ome lift with maybe a 1" body. I'll cut the body to make the wheels fit if I have to.
Will my tranny and transfer case swap over to a 87 with out modification? They both are in great condition and I have a twin stick already on the transfer case.
Thanks for the help.

It's all backwards! Haha. Most everyone else does just the opposite.
What suspension do you have on the 85? A lot of guys like the SFA ride, after going to more plush springs and shocks.
Also, have you driven an IFS rig, as a comparison? The ride is okay, at best, unless you plan on long travel.
Your transmission and transfer case would fit into the 87.

Yes it is all backwards and deffiently not the norm around here. But I have come to realize I just don't need it and its gong to see more street than off road.
I think the truck has a rough country lift on it. It rides like crap.
Thanks for the info on the tranny and trans case. My current drive train is pretty stout and plan on swaping it into what ever I decide to get.

a soild axle is more durable anyways, dont have cv axles to worry about, more suspension parts to break, sfa is more durable for both trail use and streetabilty, trust me, keep your sfa, your wallet will thank you, also the ifs isnt that great of a ride as people think
