Think my truck can make it 600 Miles?
My 86 Toyota 4runner SR5 22re with 240,000 miles on it all orignial. I'm taking a road trip to tennesse's mountians. Going to be about a 1100-1200 mile round trip. Its had alot of work done to it for the trip and some that has been done in the past 40k miles. head gasket done 40k ago along with chain guides. new full tune-up. oil change. Entire brake overhaul. Fairly new tires. new starter, new clutch,.

lol i don't see why it wouldn't.
take a spare tire with you and spare fluids just in case.
ALL of the yotas me and my buddies run are between 280k and 360k on them. and they are quite reliable too.

It's a Toyota. If you've maintained it well and it's had a good service record for you, there's no reason you should expect problems on a road trip. Engine's don't usually have catastrophic failure all at once. 22REs run 250k miles all the time without any issues. Since you've taken care of the timing chain, that's the weak point. Make sure your coolant is in good shape and call it good.
Your odds are about as good as anyone else out there in a higher mileage car, dare I say a good bit better than most.

Cool well i know shes a one of a kind yota and also tough like the rest but shes not been on trip more than 100 miles since my dad had her back in georiga. And it had like 90k miles on it and he drove it from GA to NC. So this is quite a ride. I think it will be cool but i was wondering if theres anything i should do for the trip or is it al go? lol

I said WTF and piled in and drove. I kept it at the speed lijmitid most of the way and got there and back. Check the oil and coolant level every time you stop for fuel and pray.
I'll tell you this: new vehicles break down just like older vehicles do. So, in a nutshell, if it's going to break, it's going to break, and all you can do is do your best to prevent it from happening.

any real need to go more than 70? I mean other than in some places the speed limit is 75?
Can't say much for your truck, but when I start hitting against 75, my mileage starts going down.

On long trips, especially one of the 600-mile ones, it's probably best to be easy on it and just keep to the speed limit. Say you were 400 miles into the trip, and after a run up to 100 mph, something serious decided to let go, that would make your trip substantially more complicated.
That's not to say that if you get the urge to open it up for a little bit to not do so; last summer, I decided to do an 800-mile round trip (my truck is an '86 like yours, although mine only has about 85,000 miles on it). The truck took it like a champ, and on one long straight, I did open it up briefly. I'm just worried on a vehicle so old of blowing open a coolant hose and pissing the coolant all over the road and being stranded miles from home. Again, if you don't stress the thing too much, I'm sure it'd carry you there and home no problem!

remember 600 miles on the highway is a lot less demanding on the truck compared to 600 city miles.
1 off road mile =~ 100 city miles =~ 1000 hwy miles. I made that up, but you get the idea.
