temp gauge

So with my thread before with the radiator...so i switched out the stock temp sender and my gauge is still reading the same. The funny thing is is that if i take the wire off the gauge it still reads the same as though i had it off. Does it bypass to the oil gauge if there is no connection to the coolant one? Any ideas anyone?

I put an after market gauge in mine, I didn't trust the cluster. Now with no sensor it reads more accurate than with the sensor, go figure. You can run both an aftermarket and a stock the intake has additional threaded holes but will be hard to get to when assembled.
