Tell me if I repaired rust the right way
hey guys I had minor rust on my right quarter panel about a dime size, I ground it out and treated it with rust inhibiter on both sides and then put short strained tiger hair in it,sanded, bondo, sanded, glaze putty, and primer. I also had same problem on right fender but it wasn't through metal just pitted i repeated same steps on it. It looks great but will it last? Any info or ribbing would be greatly appreciated LOL thanks guys

No, To get rid of the rust youhave to cut and weld. The POR15 and Chassis saver is hype(tried both) Even treating as directed it doesnt do anything. Really you need to cut about an inch on each side of the rust and weld in the patch pannel. Ues Epoxy primer and quality body filler. Seal it and spray it with real paint....Expect to see the rust again....
BTW heres pics from a car i am building for my dad. The same method was used on "surface rust"
this was after cleaning it with a wire wheel
this was pre cleaning for patch pannel.
Rust was in the strut tower but thank god it was in the inner fender and not structural.
The metal stuck to the filler and the fiberglass stuff was in a perfect chunk

I had about three hours in labor involved, The thing that took so long was letting the primer dry, block sanding, re-priming(cause it was so cold)
