I dunno bro; you got a scanner with the actual plugin for the Toy? just plug it and and see if it reads; the worst it could do is say something like "Connection Error"...
don't know why you need one anyway; you can get all the codes with just a paperclip or a short peice of wire...

oooooh, ok. so your not even sure if you have the plugin for your Toy with that thing?
have you ever looked at the diognostic port under the hood of your toy; probably something you wont see a plugin for anywhere short of a Toyota dealership...
I don't know what motor you have, but on the 22re's, you can read all the codes through the check enging light by jumping port E1 and TE1 with a paperclip or a short section of wire... and to erase, just pull the EFI fuse for a little while (it's probably the same on the 3.0 if that's what you have, but I'm not 100% sure on that)
using those OBI/II scanners can be tricky... late 80s and early 90s up to about 95-96 GMs are usually pretty good with em, Fords are a PITA between the late 80s and early 90s, I don't know about too many mopars before 95-96, but just about anything foreign before 95-96 it's going to be next to impossible to get a plugin reader for the diagnostic port, but on most you can just jump some terminals and watch the CEL flash. Anything around 95 and up, and many before that time (depends mainly on the manufacturer) is going to be OBDII which is universal, so it's just a matter of plugging the reader up, turning the ignition on, and pressing "Read"
