A/T overdive kick in and out
Well boys i have surched on the forums for many days now and i can not find what is wrong with my toy. Fist timer treader too.
94 4runner, 3.0l, 340h tany
trany shifts good through 1,2 but sticks before it shifts into overdrive.
It will only kick into overdrive if i play with the peddle. after playing with the peddle it will kick down to 2500rpm then back up to 3000rpm, then out of nowhere it will down shift and hit 4000rpm @ 60mph still.
I also have the problem with it not wanting to go any faster then 65, it will go a little faster with my foot on the ground but it takes minutes for the speed to go up by a mile.
i just did the head gasket, and put a new termo(180), cap, rotor, plugs, wires,
I have checked the linkage, replaced the tempature sencure, looked over all the grounds and bad wires, dumped the fuild and changed the filter.
thank you for your help, i am at a standstill.

the cable to the tany is right, no codes are poping up on the computer or the cruse control computer, unpluged the cruse computer and it did nothing, pulled the o2 out and is not a plugged cat, dumped the oil in the transfer case,
could a speed senser be a problem? I tried to test it with a multi meter and a 12 v power, while spinning the grear but i didnt see the meter move at all. Could it be sending bad signals to the computer?
