What year do you have? If you have 1990+ 4Runner or 1989 Truck, you have ADD not "automatic gay ass vsv valve hubs" which didn't run off a VSV anyways.
ADD Runs off a VSV, and are a completely different system than Automatic hubs.
Assuming you have ADD, you will only need to swap the hubs from your parts truck, with the drive flanges on your ADD system. The only thing needed is new gaskets and a little grease.
Btw, all your questions could be answered with a simple search as this topic has been beaten to death. WabFab also has information, and it can also be found here: http://www.off-road.com/offroad/arti....jsp?id=399668

If you remove the VSV valves, you will no longer have 4x4. The VSV valves control the ADD portion. ADD stands for Automatic Disconnecting Differential. The VSV pack does not control the hub, it controls the differential. If you want to eliminate the VSV portion, you will have to replace the diff, or the diff jack shaft with a non-ADD diff.
Replacing the drive flanges with manual hubs simply means you can unlock the CV axles from the spindle/wheels. It makes it so its not turning 100% of the time, like the drive flanges will make them do.

Whats to figure out? Get your pair of complete 86-95 aisin manual hubs, the 4 gaskets and install.
Ive done two of these conversions, easy as pie. Takes 25 mins with a smoke break...

I have an 87 Runner and up until about 5pm today I had "automatic gay ass vsv valve hubs" syndrome. Thank you very much Wabbit for some great new manual hubs and install kit. Took me about 15 minutes on one side, and five on the other. Just be sure to get the install kit. STOKED!!!

Of course pics! They are purdy! Sorry for garage pics, no action today...
I mean, look at these things! I thought they were new!
Yeah, I have travertine tiled flooring in the garage...
Anyone need some M/T chrome center caps or Auto Hubs?
