Sway Bar Disconnects, Ideas?

I'm interested in buying or building a set of sway bar disconnects for the rear of my 95 4Runner. Does anyone know of a company that sells them? Has anyone built them; could you give some info on what hardware you used? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the price quote but I've decided to go cheap and build my own. I just purchased some hardware on McMaster Carr's website, only spent $50. Pics and a part list will be posted soon, if everything works out.

FWIW, "Cheap" and "durable" rarely go together in the world of 'wheeling...

well shucks, if hes juts makin somethin thats gonna come off anyways, why not go cheap. thats like buyin a cheap wrapper for your ice cream. it doesnt matter, ur just takin it off and eatin the ice cream, not the wrapper.

Point taken, but "cheap" doesn't always mean "crappy." If I spend a third the price of having someone else make it, I'd rather just take a chance. Homemade mods are sometimes way cool, anyways we'll see how it goes.

I know people say it isn't a good idea, but i dont run an Anti-Sway Bar at all. I know that it is a lifted truck and the CoG is higher, thus i don't drive like a maniac and take it easy. It is also very stable going down the interstate and if i need to swerve a little bit it isn't too bad, but can be a little hairy.

Some ideas on my web page as well:

I recommend that folks first try manually disconnecting the sway bar off road and seeing if it makes a difference. Then if it does, try driving on the road with it disconnected and see if you notice any difference. Only in the case where it does make a difference on and off road should you consider disconnects and then only if you plan on using them frequently (like once a month or so).

Finally some pics,

Here's the truck

And the disconnects, painted, mounted

Sorry for the blurriness, the picture was tough to take. In total I spent around $70. I'll post some comparative flex pics and stats soon.

here's a little set I built for my old rig--probably dangerous as heck, but I had fun making them and they seemed to work quite well; kept them on my DD for probably 4 months before selling my 4runner.http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...2/100_0148.jpg
