Sway-Bar Disconnects for 2nd gen?

You can find them everywhere for 3rd gens and Tacomas but who all sells them for our junk?

i pulled out my front sway bar a LONG time ago... havent had any problems yet. the rear one is 2 bolts, so i will just unbolt it from the body and let it bounce around when i go wheelin. hell sometimes i dont put it back for a while, and i drive my runner like a sports car, and dont have any problems...

They're available from all the same companies, they just advertise (and stock in stores) the 3rd gens more because that's what selling the fastest. Get hold of WaskillyWabbit (www.wabfab.org) he'll make them for you. (I tried to link to old threads about them but the forum owners in their infinite wisdom have rearranged everything and the links are invalid...)

I just un-bolt mine to wheel - takes all of 5 minutes front and rear.
The secret is to spray the nuts and take them off and on occasionally.

I zip tie them when wheeling.

It would be nice to have a few options (as with anything) so basically i'm just wanting to know everyone that offers them for our trucks.

After more searching i found these... http://www.yankeetoys.org/lee/sway-bar.htm Are they any good?

FROR has them but they don't show for what years...
http://www.frontrangeoffroadfab.com/disconnects.htm
I also read that Northwest Offroad sells 2nd gen discos but i don't see them on their website and i prob wouldn't order from them anyway.

If 'Wabbit' will make them, he should advertise...*hint*hint

I would just unbolt them for off roading but when its freezing cold outside plus the the time it takes to air down/up my tries, i'd rather have something quick and easy. Far as permanently taking the front or rear bar off...no-can-do...i travel on too many fast winding roads to justify doing that.

I thought Wabbit already made them, but I could be mistaken.
Ditto the unbolt them thing. Nothing to it. If you only unbolt one side no zip tying is needed.

Sway Bar....what's that

I too, ran the disconnects for a few months...it's just another thing to mess with before/after wheelin'...I later ditched the sway bar completely. I still have the disconnect kit (NWOR) if anyones interested.

I guess it depends where you spend most of your time. If you're a "pavement pounder", by all means....leave it in

I wheel a-lot!! But when I have to drive a distance to go wheeling and my runner is full it gets way to scarry with the body roll. To me it is worth it. I might be interested in your kit. I have a 2nd Gen. What do you have?

I put a post in the offroad section about discos. I recently got some Robinhood150 knockoffs, and wheeled with them for the first time last weekend. When I went to put them back on I noticed the swaybar had been rubbing on the drivshaft.

What do you guys use to keep this from happening? Do you tie up the swaybar?

That's cuz you are still on 33's and don't have rear coils. They get tippy when they get higher and flexier. Not putting your sportscar down, actually just making fun of my Tippy bitch and the wrecks she has almost caused me!

(Same pic as the self Siping one....)

All Phase Off Road in Longmont Colorado. Mine is a custom but if you have a 2nd Gen I assume they can model it after mine and ship it to ya. Dave and Vaughn (The 2 owners) are awesome. They did my front bumpers and are doing my Exocage this spring!

My rig is bomb proof because of them. Cuz lord knows I've tried blowing it up....

Oh and here is the front bumper they did:

And more rear bumper goodness....

Sure! I can make you some 2nd gen swaybar discos I imagine. Just need a 2nd gen to use for a model. I would imagine all the parts I got in stock for 3rd gen quick discos would work just fine.

Special offer: You bring me a 2nd gen as a model and I'll make you a set for free for using you as a guinea pig (This requires vehicle on site, not pictures or measurements, but on site, as in my garage)

How's that?

Email me at thewabbit@wabfab.org

So let me get this straight.... you want me to drive to Alabama and get my sway bars fabbed up? I mean it would be fun and all but...

Yeah I'll get out there between Billings Canyon and molab next week and then Farmington NM on the 21st...

I've got some guys here working on it. Though I will be sure to post pics once they are done!

Talking

Let ME get this straight, you have a 93 SAS'd runner w/ the sway bars still on it? Why?

First thing I did was torch all that crap off and I drive mine everyday...never miss them.

Now an IFS rig, I can see the need to keep the ride da bling!

Drive from CO, TX, MS, FL, I don't care...someone will be passing through here or is close by enough to take me up on the offer.

Thanks I try. I wash her hair every morning and paint her nails about every two weeks. Oh and we do yoga together to keep the flex going.

Gotta love being a Lady wheeler!
