Swapping seats

I have a 94 pickup standard cab, and i want to swap out the bench seat for a pair of bucket seats. Have any of you done this, and if so, what vehicle did you get the seats from, and how did you put mounts on ?

I put my 94 4runner seats into a 94 single cab yota that had a bench seat. It bolts right up and Im surtain it does for almost any years in that gen.

I am trying this now. The only thing I can tell you is to measure the distance between your front mount and your back mount. (probably 16 inches)

Try to get forerunner bucket seats from about the same year as your truck.

I bought seats from an 88 forerunner. The mounting bracket is shorter on that year for the passanger side.

So if looking for direct bolt in try to get close to your truck year.

all the 85-89 Gen1 4RUnners have a shorter bracket on the passenger side.
This was becuase of the "tilt and slide" access for the rear passengers.

the 2nd gen 4runner seats will bolt directly into the 89-95 pickup. however, the driver side mounts are slightly different - the hole is there for the buckets but there's no nut on the backside, for the front right mount. all others line up fine (you will use the seatbelt hole for the rear right and will have to drill a hole in the trans tunnel for a new seatbelt mount - a spot is clearly marked under the carpet directly opposite the passenger seatbelt). the passenger seat lines up with no problems at all.

note also that since the seatbelt hole uses a 12mm bolt instead of the 10mm (i think?) on every other mount, you'll either need to reuse the seatbelt bolt or run a 10mm bolt through and put a nut on the other side. you'll have to remove the heat shield to do this.

i put my seats in in about an hour including drilling all the holes and running all the new bolts. damn good swap if the seats are cheap enough - i paid $50cad a piece. waaaayyy better than the stock bench!
