I have 2 85's. I paid 250 for one and 100 for the other. Both in the same condition. All depends on who is selling it.

Condition and location determine price. For an 84/85 yes...the others, no.

yes the year does matter, 84/85 is best. so thats a pretty good deal.

Of course, if you're doing a SAS for increased wheelability, you won't want the steering or the Birfields because you should be going with high-steer and Longfields ... all you really need is the third and the housing.

@ tc, unless his stock birfs are in poor condition there is no need for him to upgrade to longfields. ive been pretty hard on my SA and still have yet to break a birf(knock on wood lol.) as for high steer he has to have it.

Then your IFS was strong enough too. I will agree that maybe you don't need to include them in the initial build, but you better factor the $645 into the budget because until you upgrade, you're no stronger than the IFS that you thought was so insufficient.

TOYOTA_1 - the 35x10.50 is probably all that has saved you thus far, but it's not a matter of if, but when.

id have to disagree, in my experience a stock SA is stronger than stock ifs. after all thats one of the reason's i sas'ed. Ive ran these same tires on stock ifs, and broke many times, all while being careful not to hop and turn hard under throttle etc. meanwhile Ive been thrashing my sa harder then i would even think about doing to my (stock/weak) ifs. i have broke one thing on my sa, the pinion busted in half, and I'm still using the birfs that survived
