Stilll not starting!

I already have posted two threads about my truck not starting and have done everything(starter battery cables ignition switch and charged the battery its not the battery!) I was wondering where alllllll the switches and fuses are for the starting of my truck. i think it might be the main wire from the starter solenoid to the ignition switch, i think it might be gettin grounded somewhere everytime i turn the key to START. i need the most help i can get, the person who gets what might be wrong might get a prize(unlikely because i have no money left) i have to go to school evryday and this is my daily driver and cannot afford my truck not running anymore. thanks

well my trucks accesories work radio clock etc. but when i turn the key to start the radio turns off and the clock dims out. i have come down to the personal solution of somewhere the solenoid wire is getting grounded out somewhere. does anybody know the complete path of that wire from the ignition switch to starter, or any idea of what else i could be?

you're 100% sure the battery cables are clean and tight, as well as the wires on the starter? You're also sure that all the wires are good (internal corrosion in the batt cable?)

93 fsm starter info

Theres info in there on checking the relay for proper operation.

other than that, if you think its worn through and grounding on something theres only one way to know for sure, check.

all I can say with electronics is check them all in every way you can while your in there dont just check one wire or one fuse. electrical circuits can be touchy especially on vehicles because the supply voltage is not always constant. but it sounds to me like you have a short of some kind any blown fuses?

The first thing that comes to mind....ground cable from engine block.....ahhhhhh let me change that....if the radio dims out when the key is turned to START then you might have a battery issue. I know you said you charged it but unless you actually saw the battery pulling 5 or 10 amps in via the charge meter on the charger then you may very well have a battery with an internal open. It can supply just enough juice to run a radio but not enough for a high current starter.

To test this, arc the battery very quickly but that is somewhat dangerous....try another battery.

edit---if that's a Checker Auto battery then that's your problem.

Could be starter or solenoid or connections leading up to them. Firmly tap the starter with the fat end (handle) of a screwdriver a couple of times. Then try to start it. Sometimes that can knock some of the dust off the starter brushes and it will work temporarily.

im not sure about yours, but chrysler and some ford cars have an inline fuse with the alternator, and whats the weakest link in a circuit? the fuse, of course. id check everything, it could be blown, letting your battery run everything, thus your radio working, but your truck not starting. i cant remember if our trucks have tha fuse or not, but might wanrt to check and make sure

Of course, it could be some wires crossing in your steering column leading to the key cylinder....corrosion, something.
