Steering fluid leak?

There was a big puddle of clear oily liquid under the truck on the driver side near the front bumper. Could it be anything else? Do I just need hoses replaced? And how much would that be?

I alway wonder, how do you get 500+ posts and still ask a question like that?

"clear oily liquid",...maybe some neighborhood dogs just got busy under your bumper, and that's what was left behind.

But, to answer your question, it depends.
are you sure it is the hose that is leaking? is it coming from the pump, resevoir, or steering gear box? if it's a hose, your lucky, probably ~$50. If its a pump or gear box, ~$100+. Try and take some pics and give more info.

Your power steering fluid should be red ATF. If it's regular power steering fluid switch that out when you fix your problem. Check your hoses; my return hose was so checked that fluid was spraying out of it.
