SR5 Gauge Swap

I know the SR5 cluster swap is one of the easier things to be done, but i am having slight problems. I got the cluster off of a 1987 22RE 5sp 4runner. I am trying to install it in my 1986 DLX auto pickup. First thing, the tach doesn't read, most likely because my truck isn't wired for one, the other gauges work because i have seen them move but i have yet to get an oil sending unit for the oil gauge. The last problem is the fuel gauge. I have less than half tank right now, but the SR5 cluster reads full, way past full. I watched it go from resting to full. And it is now stuck there. Other than that, its perfect. I drove with it a little bit and the odometer is fine, so is the speedo. There any input on the wiring for the tach, or more importantly the fuel guage?

when I put an auto cluster in my manual truck I had to change a few wires around in the harness on the cluster connector side to make mine work. I can't remember which ones, but I found the pin info I needed by searching.

The tach i knew would be a problem. That was given, i am more interested in the fuel gauge though.

I might have forgotten to mention i have a 22RE, but so was the donor 4runner. I am thinking that the wire for the fuel gauge just might be in the wrong place, is it wired to port a or port c?

I don't remember, if you search for the pin locations of both trucks gauges, I am sure you'll out like I did.

You definitely have to move some wires around. Your fuel gauge is grounded that is why it is hard over on full.
The following is for an 86, I suspect the 87 cluster that you have is the same.
If you unplug the three connectors from the back of your cluster. Connector "A" is the one on the left, "B" is in the middle and "C" is the blue connector on the right. If you are looking at the pins with the lock tab on the top pin #1 is on the far left.
Oil pressure gauge: 22re cluster with a tach: position A3
Oil Pressure light : 22re cluster w/o tach w/ect: position A2
" " " w/o ect" position A3
Fuel gauge: 22re cluster w/ tach: Fuel sender to gauge terminal 1: position C5

Fuel Gauge: 22re w/o tach w/ect:Fuel sender to gauge terminal 1: position C6
Fuel Gauge: 22re w/o tach w/ect: position C5 is ground
Fuel Gauge: 22re w/o tach w/o ect Fuel sender to gauge terminal 1: position C5

22re cluster w/tach: Tach wire: position A6
22re cluster w/o tach ECT select switch normal: position A6

Hope this does it for you!

For some you may need to ground the SR5 Cluster Fuel Gauge. I have an 88 4wd Auto that i swapped to manual and I used this guide to get the SR5 cluster installed. I believe the donor was a 86 if i remember correctly. I moved the fuel gauge wires around but it just kept pegging past full. I put a small ring terminal bent 90 degrees on the left terminal marked - on the printed circuit board, grounded it on a nearby bolt, moved C6 to C5, and capped off the old C5. That did the trick and the gauge functions properly now.

Ok, I just picked up a cluster from a 92 SR5 4wd 22re Pickup and I am installing it in my 93 DLX 2wd 22re Automatic Pickup. The Tach does not come on, the Oil Pressure does not read and when I turn on the Hazards the High Beam Indicator blinks instead of the Turn Signal Indicators on the cluster. Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance.
