You need the combination meter wiring diagrams for each vehicle to see what goes where. I have them for the '93 truck and '91 4Runner but they are too large to upload here. PM me an e-mail address and I'll send them to you.

Did the dash that you pulled out have the tach? If not the wire harness probebly does not have that wire in it. I had to go through this with the diesel install. I had to run the wire to the proper pin. Number 7 on the connector closest to the drivers door.

yotagon400,

The pdf for the '93 truck should also have the wiring diagram for the cluster without the tach, but yes, all you need to do is run a single wire from the igniter to the tach pin on the cluster.

One more thing you need to change. If your stock gauge has the low oil pressure warning light and the new gauge has the oil pressure gauge, you'll need to remove the oil pressure switch and replace it with an oil pressure sender.

My 86 already had the wire built in.

I can't imagine that the 93 doesn't have it. Your first post was confusing, did you plug it in and the tach doesn't work? Did you match v6 to v6 or 4cyl to 4cyl? They have different tachs.

Are you saying DLX didnt have those? I'm pretty sure they were an option, if you didn't know. my '93 DLX had tach, oil pressure, and voltmeter...

My DLX did not have the cluster with the tach, oil pressure gauge, voltmeter, or reserve light. That was probably an option on models with manual trannys, autos don't really need a tach. The Toyota FSM shows both clusters in the Body Electrical section. I personally think the DLX cluster looks better, but I wanted all of those dodads.

You have the same that I had. V6 auto gauge package, all dummy lights and a speedo. Everything was there for the other gauges just not the tach wire.

Read the entire thread.

7 wires come out of the ignitor, which do I spice into?
