squeaky clutch but only when cold
i have searched this alittle, all the squeaky clutch is a constant noise. mine only happens when i first start teh frist time of the day or when it sits for a few hours w/o warming it up first. if i just start and go it squeaks. not in gear and going but when changing gears or when i press down on the clutch. it only lasts a short while, but i didnt know if it was something to worry about or if its something a 91 truck does cuz its old and needs warming. it even happened on a day that it was 80 out leaving work and didnt warm it up.
thanks for the help

Thats the piston in the master clutch cylinder. Does the pedal feel sticky? As in it doesnt slide in and out smoothly but has some hesitation? Sticky piston.
Get a OEM master (marlincrawler.com has both OEM master and slaves).
WD 40 is a good QUICK fix, spray it on the piston rod it will work for maybe up to a week before the squeak returns but the problem will only get worse.

Bump!
I just wanted to bump this thread because I am now having the same problem. I have this squeak that comes from the clutch master cylinder piston when the truck is cold. After driving a few miles is goes away. Can I spray lithium grease inside the piston housing? or do I have to replace my master cylinder? The clutch otherwise works great, no problems, just that squeak.

another bump
I may have a similar problem
I get a squeak only when engaging the clutch from a dead stop, getting the vehicle to move. Doing it very slowly seems to not cause the noise at all, but normal driving will cause a squeak.
It seems to go away as things get hot, but I have a hunch it is the clutch disk rather than anything in the hydraulic system. Clutch is now 110k miles old, some slight towing (motorcycle trailer, about 5 times for a few hundred miles), so I guess it may be wearing and only grip better as things expand down there from engine heat.
I don't feel any slip in the clutch, though. So, not knowing if sqeaky sounds are normal signs of clutch disk wear, could it be anything else?
