Spool Install in V6 rear.

I got my spool the other week after welding it became too much of a challenge.
Heres the 3rd with stock spider gears.

New spool ready for duty

Carrier out, bearings and ring gear removed. Any one want a 4pinion carrier for a v6 toyota 3rd? Sell it to you cheap

ring gear pulled, bearing being pulled in this picture

and on to the spool.

The bearings went back onto the spool then into the 3rd.

Checking backlash

and the completed 3rd ready to go back in some time next week when i can get my truck in the garage.

RE RE... You're the guy that's running 35's with only fender trimming, right?

I REALLY want to see your build page... I think that's awesome to running that tire with that lift... 0!

Please send me a link of your truck if you have one...

Not that I really want o hijack here, but I guess people are used to it by now

if I am reading your cardomain right thats 35's on stock lift with just a 2" leaf set in the rear, some fender trimming up front and the front sways removed? Did you have to crank the t-bars at all?

This isn't yur daily driver right?

The spool got bearings before it went back it. it had to or it wouldant work. and yes i reused them.

the 2"inch leaves are from downey . I installed them when the truck was a dd. i didnt install the over load leaves at first because i wanted more flex. this effed me over because i used the truck to carry my 500 pound motorcycle and it killed the leaves, made them frowny. so on the over load leafs went and it now sits about stock height. but i have toooooooons of droop. my shocks are currently limiting it. and no tbar crank.

Spool is holding up great as it should because there are no moving parts like a locker, Im swapping it over to a different 3rd, but this time the bearings need to be replaced..

thanks for posting. i was thinking about spooling instead of welding. just seems so much smarter..... then if i ever want to turn that truck into a dd again or sell it. i can just put the stock junk back in. haha.

Thanks for the bump. This spool is now living life in the front a toyota tube buggy in a high pinion diff.

Those are BGF Red Labels by the way, fun roll over at the end of the vid too.

And Im running welded 4cly diffs in my truck. One is a locker that the teeth were skipping and worn so I welded it up too. If you want them to hold up, weld the gears TO the carrier.

Heres the welded locker. haha.
