Speedo disassembly Question
My speedo gave out after 300K on my 87 4-cyl Runner. I have a cluster from a 6-cyl, but the tach is not calibrated for the 4 so it's not just a straight swap. I am hoping to extract the speedo portion from the good cluster to replace the busted one. So, I got as far as getting the clear plastic lens off, but cant figure where to go from there. I have tried prying off the speedometer needle, but it doesn't seem to want to come off. Does anyone know how to remove the speedo from the cluster???

Here are links to the 2 post that i used to help me in my swap. They will both explain how to remove your speedo needle, and atleast one will explain changing out the odometer. My key words were, guage swap, for the search funtion. I hope this helps

There is a small white screw in the back of the tach with a phillips head. Turn it from 6cyl to 4cyl. *click*
I do not know which way it is supposed to turn since I've only seen pictures of the screw in some threads here. When I did my SR5 cluster swap the cluster was out of a 4cyl.

I don't think the tach adjustment screw in the cluster is a "click" mechanism... I think it's a standard pointometer that you have to dial in with a multimeter... or am I wrong...
