Speaking of "balancing" your motor.....

Anybody have any experiences doing this? 22RE engine.

How much do you figure it helped? Thanks.

And, how much did it cost?

This will do next to nothing on a 22RE. Balancing is done on high reving engines to get ride of harmonics that the weight transfer of the piston/crank make. The pistons and rods are weighed and then material is added or removed from the crank weights to "balance" the action. This is the basic concept anyway.

I don't run engines hard. I wondered if this would do anything for us "grandpa" drivers.

I wouldn't do it on a "grandpa" driver - I've done it both ways: balanced and non-balanced.
I do notice a difference at idle, but just to be fair the truck is different also, so it could be a number of things.
