Unhappy Someone PLEASE HELP.. solenoid problem...

Here's my problem...

I am wondering which color (black, white,or yellow) wire goes to the No. 2 solenoid in the transmission. BTW 1994 V6 AT 4wd 4runner. thanks a million, Lyle

One person says its the black wire, while another person says its the yellow wire.

Which one is it, please help, its cold out, and I'm tired of walking around this town....

do you know what the #2 solenoid does? Looked at a wiring diagram and cant seem to find it. Is it on transmission or transfer case?

The only way to know for sure is to check a wiring diagram. There are 20 miles of wiring in any given vehicle, its nearly impossible for anyone....even myself ......to know what color ONE wire in the loom is.

Here's a reference to the same diagram you posted but it has the colors labeled:

didnt.doit.wisc.edu/offroad/Toyota/manuals/ileaf/95toyrm/95toypdf/95rmsour/1995/954runne/at2/valvebod.pdf

I don't know if this will give you what you need or not -- it doesn't identify which solenoid is which, just identifies which colored wires go where.

It appears in the FSM that the wire from the ECU to the #2 solenoid is black. Which wire that connects to inside the transmission, I'm not sure. Can you tell by inspecting the connectors?

I apologize for misinterpreting your original questiion -- I thought you were asking about the vehicle wiring harness wire color -- which the FSM seems to identify.

This wiring diagram shows 2 wires going to the #2 solenoid. http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1990-1995...stemci/ect.pdf

It looks like to me one is solid black and one is red with a white stripe, but I'm not very good at reading EWDs.

That diagram shows two wires -- one for each case:22RE, 3VZ-E. With the 22RE, the wire is red with white, for the 3.0, the wire is black.
