!!!Third paragraph to get to the point!!!

(Pre note....when I was working on my truck in the shop and it was lifted in the air...I pulled my ebrake to test it since it wasn't holding well on hills...when locked the passenger rear tire spins freely not affected at all and from testing the cable I came to the conclusion it's rusted/froze in the drum somewhere....and the driver side can be turned kind of easily but holds a little bit.)

last few days when leaving in the morning I push my ebrake in..light went off...then the ebrake slowly pushed out a little until the light came back on...push it shut a little...a few seconds later it came on and so on.

Then today I parked my truck and when I went to pull the ebrake....the same thing just broke lose and I basically pulled it out of my dash xD....it didn't come all the way out but it came out like...14 inche. *guess* and no longer has any pressure and doesn't lock the brake at all...looked underneath and saw the cord broke basically right at the little wheel by the light sensor button underneath.

How exactly do I go about fixing my ebrake so it's at least functonal again....? I'll deal with the seizing on a later date on the rear wheels. Tried looking around to not much sucess.

Replace the broken cable. No "rig" job will have the strength to hold reliably.

Why replace the cable if the rest does not work??

repair or replace the bell crank and brackets that are seized that are not working at the rear wheels.

Without the Emergency brake working and being used the rear brakes will not adjust.

you will have to adjust them manually .

They usually freeze up on the arm that goes through the backing plate.

YES! I will be replacing my e-brake with something like this when I go 4x discs. Did you make that yourself? My old man and I did something like this to his m-38 years ago when we put discs up front on it.

Thing kind of has me confused...when engaged it blocks the driveline I take it but the set up has me stumped haha

yes, but it's not like you'll be driving with you e-brake on. with these you damn sure wont be! XD

Mine was broke and needed a temporary fix. Was having problems sourcing one local. Though I did have one for a later year. It doesn't fit in brackets perfect but it works fine and kept me from having my rig fail inspection. But X2 on needing it to adjust rear brakes.

Have seen lots of post about t-case brakes not holding the greatest on inclines. But really not good to depend on a parking brake only to hold on inclines.

I had a set of brackets for rear disc but those disappeared along with my hard copy FSM, 3/4" socket set, and dewalt impart driver in our stuff going into storage when we got sent overseas.
