So i have decided to finaly fix my sag!
So i know there is lots of info on here about this so no bashing! I just want your simple opinion on what of the two choices you would pick if you were me.
Choice one, Lift block and New u-bolts
Choice two, Rear shackles
Whick one would you choose and do you think 2" of lift in the back is about right to take out the sag and possibly have the back a little higher?
also, will I need to replace the shocks that are on now and is there any other hidden challenges I should know about?
right now my runner is getting painted! and after it's all done ill post some before and after pics and get your guys and gals opinions! thanks

Are you looking to fix sag or get lift?
If you're only fixing the sag, you don't need to do anything to the torsion bars.
With regards to fixing the sag, new leafs is the best way. Blocks will raise the back up but with sagging springs you are VERY close to the bump stops so would have very little travel and would have a rough ride.
And I recommend replacing the u-bolts if you replace the springs, though it's not totally necessary. Just something to consider.

Three inches is A LOT to expect from torsion bars... even if you did 2" BJ spacers. You would be stressing the front CV's at such angles.
Search the forums about torsion bar crank and t-bar lift and... well just about any other way to rephrase it.

With stock height replacement springs, what else needs to be replaced depends on your luck removing the old springs. If everything comes apart without damage, you can usually re-use all the parts (spring hanger bolt, u-bolts, shackles, etc.), but if any of those parts needs to be cut off, you'll need to replace them.

I would also suggest new springs. You will spend in the neighborhood of $100 on new shackles unless you can make them yourself. For about $225 you can have new springs that will work very well. I had the Downeys until my SA and they were fine. They are now providing service under a second runner. If money is super tight go ahead with the shackles. Just keep in mind you will probably end up getting springs somewhere down the road. Remember the old saying:
Not enough time/money to do it right, but always enough time/money to do it twice.

Once you install whatever fix you decide on, check compression and extension measurements on each side with no shocks on. Your shocks will need to be a touch shorter compressed than your shortest measurement. Otherwise your shocks become your bumpstops which will mean a short lifespan for your shocks. Try to get as close to those measurements as you can while making sure you keep a compressed shock measurement shorter than your compressed truck measurement. (i.e. if your axle to frame measurement is 15 inches compressed make sure your shock measurement is less than 15 inches compressed) You can throw your current ones back on without any problem while you shop for a deal. They will likely be shorter than the optimal size but won't hurt anything. It will just cost you a bit of droop. If your asking about brand recommendations, you will find as many opinions as there are members here, so good luck.
