snapped CAT stud

EDIT: I got my O2 sensor, went to install it so I sprayed the rusty O2 sensor (not CAT stud, sorry for the typo) bolts with wd 40. Got under there today and put pressure on a stud and one snapped. So I guess I will be dropping the exhaust. Does anyone know if the studs are replaceable or are they part of the pipe? I'm thinking if I can extract the studs and replace them. My neighbor welds and he thinks he can weld new studs on. Should I just go with a pipe and get a new CAT too as long as I'm dropping everything? Where can I get the pipe for a good price?

I only have one O2 for my year (22r) and it's right before the cat. I got the replacement from toyota today and didn't expect the bolts to snap. Oh well, I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend! I figure I might as well replace the cat too, its original to the vehical. 166,000 miles. The heat shield just fell off in my driveway the other day.

I checked out your my space link. You ride trials?

Your first mistake was to use wd40.Its a lube. Next time use PB Blaster, let it soak overnight,re-apply then take your nut off. Then apply never seeze when you re-install.

No, not trails, "Trials" bike trials, I saw you had a video on your myspace link. I guess thats not you in the vid. I ride, thats why I was asking.

As far as only having one bolt, did you replace yours and install a new one with one bolt or is it the orginal with a rusted off bolt. The reason I ask is because if its the ogrinal, it probably has alot of carbon and rust build up preventing it from leaking. I would imagine if you tried to install new one with one bolt it would not seat the gasket properly or were you able to get it to seat properly?

get this i pout a brand new 200 dollar os sensor in my trial rig and it doesnt fit right in the older ypipe from a 80s 4runner and now the flange has cracked!!!
so i guesss the only way to use it will be to weld it in place

thanks 22re. I figured as long as the o2 sensor is before the cat it should work. Saved me time and $$ until I rebuild. Im gonna be puttin a header on and changing the whole exhaust this winter, so I would have felt like spending money on any part of th exhaust would have been a waste. And my exhaust currently has no leaks. I know I would have run into problems with the CAT bolts !!
