Show me some flex pics of your ZUK mods
I am hoping the MODS don't delete this, as It is hard to find pics other than install and ride heights.
I need some convincing to do the NON-WELD Zuk Mod, but have a hard time understanding how this does not affect flex. Especially Droop.
Would prefer poser pics both a distance shot as well as closeup of what the springs looks like when flexed out, both compressed and extended.
Thanks guys.

I don't have any close ups. I think the best you will find is Junkers that has one wheel lifted by a forklift, and his shocks undone.
This is all I got, as I am not "hardcore" with my daily.

Those are them!! Nice work.
And yeah I have had it flexed to the point of having a wheel off the ground, and have no complaints about it. The ride is awesome.
If I had the money at the time I probably would have ponied up for new leaf packs, as I heard too many "rough ride" posts about AALs. But after having done it this way, I would do this again in a heartbeat.

I just still dont like the idea of hacking away at the mounts and also I have no more bump stops left for the bottom mount, however I have seen someone on here make his own out of flat plate and a round piece. But, I don't know nor have a welder.
I might go with a long add-a-leaf though.

No. There is a piece of 2' square tubbing that is welded to a piece of strap that is welded to the frame. The spring is compressed to fit over the piece of 2' square tubing. The springs are 2 1/4 ID so they fit nicely over the square tubing.

here are a couple of mine .. welded bracket top and bottom.stock leaf springs ,ubolt flip and some 10" or 12" bilsteins dont really remember ..
got them from Tofer and I had to move the top shock mount up as far as i could get it near the stock location, after cutting the stock one off .

No problem, thats what i was trying to find before I did mine, but they seem to do pretty good. Seem to only limit up travel about an inch and a half.
They are actually only 1.5" blocks that i got instead of an AAL with my bj spacers. I heard lots of stories about AALs being really stiff and making the leaf bow over it the wrong way. So i went with the blocks, They seem to do fine and havent given me problems. In fact dont some companies put them stock on the 4x4 versions of their standard trucks?
Whats bad about them, i didnt research that well before I did it.

I've got blocks like that on my 4runner. Not the greatest, but I'd rather have them than an AAL. But either option is.....meh
In theory, with the right length/spring rate, it could flex just fine. Coil-sprung setups are great for flex, and the ZUK mod essentially uses the leafs as links.
My concern with using this setup in an offroad rig. By un-loading the leafs, it seems that they would be very susceptible to wrap. But....we'll see. I'll probably be throwing a set of stock subaru coil springs (I've got 8 or 10 pairs sitting around) in mine for a budget boost this summer.

Basically, what I did was bend the super thick overload so it conformed to the resting weight arch of the front of the leafpack....I then close-clamped it tp the pack. I chose to cut the rear half of the overload off but I think if you want to keep the maximum payload ability up there then don't cut it....just leave it as is. see the link below.
