Should I remove another leaf from the front sas question

Hello,

I have an 1986 toyota pickup that I sassed 1-1/2 ago and I thought that by adding a winch and everything that the shakle angle would be better but the thing is still almost straight.. I have the 3"TG sas kit and I have already removed a leaf in the front..

My question is should I remove another one.

2 reasons why I want to remove a leaf.
1- the truck is high to me... I would love to have the center of gravity lower.
2- I don't think that it will go lower than that..

I have a 1.9 tdi swap in that truck with nozzles and a tune obviously.. and it is a lot lighter than the V6 that was in there.. maybe thats why it doesn't go lower.

would there be any issue in removing another leaf and which one should I remove?

Did you originally have the HD springs?
Sounds like the front hanger wasn't positioned correctly, if your shackles are straight.

I'm not sure whether it would be wise to remove a leaf or which one.

Do not remove a leaf,,,,,,, lets see the shackle angle? Maybe the next shortest shackle. You could in some way add weight to the front. Did you expect the SAS to sit lower?

Yes it's the 3" hd springs.
My front hanger at the beginning was 3/4 of an inch forward but now it is flush with the frame. I don't have any pictures with me but I could get some tonight.

Ya, that shackle angle isn't very pretty.
I'll have to look at mine, but I think my hanger is 1/4" back from flush. And I have the same springs.

If anything, you could have the shackle hole in the frame welded up and then recut the hole closer to the spar thats an inch or 2 forward?

Looks like you need 2" longer springs.
Have you looked into a ruf (rear up front) spring swap?

Btw how does that tdi swap work? Mileage?

Post a pic up of the rear frame mount. Mine is up close to the front of the body mount bracket (not centered).

What V6 did you have in there before? 3.turd wasn't stock till 88..just curious.

get a hold of a couple of sets of rears springs and build yourself a couple of RUF packs...mix and match till you get what you want..
