Should I balance my 22re?

Hi.Just completed gathering all of my parts for my rebuild.Block is .020,new crank and rods and EB head will be ordered next paycheck. Before the put together should I kick out the xtra cash for a balance job.My brain says dont waste your money, but I sure do like the thought of silky smoothness .This isnt a performance build, but it will have bigger valves and a 268 cam. Thanks for any input you guys can offer.

How much does it cost?

I'm sure that it was balanced when Toyota put it in, and I doubt its gone significantly out of balance since, unless you did something like hydrolock the engine.

I would say skip it and spent the money on something else, like steaks.

if you were shooting for a drag truck I'd say yeah balance it...
but no matter what you do, a longer stroke 4 cyl like the 22re is gonna vibrate even when balanced.
so skip it.
