Shops in Michigan
A couple weeks back, I bought an 89 4Runner with minimal rust. It runs and drives decent. I've only changed plugs and wires. Next up is exhaust and fuel filter, if it ever stops raining. Everytime I head out to work on it, someone at the apt asks what I'm doing and firmly states that we are not supposed to do work in the lot.
Question is, are there any good shops/mechanics that can work on these in SE MI, that won't overcharge? I know dealerships charge way too much and I cannot perform the work in my apt parking lot. Thus I am forced to pay for work.
Any suggestions on shops.
Thanks

Where abouts? Also, how's it work with the exchange rate? What they don't know won't hurt'em, or what?
After driving around today, I believe I hear the rattle of a loose timing chain. Somebody's got to know of a good shop in SE Michigan. Please help a Yoter out.
Thanks

He's in Orangeville about 2.5hrs with traffic from Port Huron/Sarnia, from Detroit/Windsor probably closer to 3hrs maybe less if you use the secondary hwys .
Shane at Toyworks 1-519-938-9844... he's a member here but he does'nt have time to surf much and I can't remember his handle for sure...
Top wrench and his prices are very reasonable... exchange rate will work in your favour... he goes down to the US fairly regularly so he may be willing to work in US$ give him a call... tell him your a member here and were talking to Paul from the airport.

Give him a call anyways... if you have'nt ordered the parts yet he may be able to get you a better deal.... also it's a good idea to contact him so he can "schedule" you in he does get very booked up, he does work weekends occasionally [he's trying to cut down on that so he can get some more family time with his kids], he can give you a better idea on travel time and the fastest way to get there.
usually he's booking work a week in advance... major projects like a custom 4-link suspension lift, major rebuild, or the like can require a month's advance notice or more.
