86 TOY

Have had Rancho RS5000's for the last 15 yrs and looking for something new. The Rancho's are very firm/stiff! Anybody have any suggestions? Want something a little smoother/less firm. I have a '86 P/U on 31's if that helps, no lift. What came on these stock? Thanks!

I had Rancho RS5000's and they were more forgiving than my current Bilsteins which are very stiff, so maybe try the Old Man Emu's.

if im not mistaken bilsteins have regressive valving, meaning the more bumps the softer, other shocks such as rancho's procomp ext..have progressive valving, the more bumps the harder, i got bilstein 5100's on my dodge 2500 and couldnt be happier, but my OEM shocks were like springs, they had no dampening power at all...

I'm just not into paying an arm and a leg for shocks. Procomp E3000, I like'm and for the cash great performance.

I have a 92 4Runner that will be getting an ARB Bumper and a WARN winch. The shocks are only 1 year old Toyota OEM. Would it improve my ride if I went to stiffer shocks to compensate for the extra weight of the bumper and winch? I realize shocks won't provide a lift, but I would like the vehicle to keep its handling to as close to stock as possible.

I just put some Rancho 9000's on pretty happy with them and they are adjustable so you can play with them to fit your taste.

I don't know the 1st thing ProComp "makes", that doesn't...

They are the "Sears" of off roading... Craftsman Chainsaw? No thanks, I'd rather buy a Homelite...
