shock length?

just added some overload 1.5" lift coils. i got kyb gas adjust shocks for the rear that seem like they might be restricting the down travel on the rear end. since they are new i dont want to ruin them by them acing like bumpstops.

so my question is - what is a good way to judge the proper amount of travel from the shock?

thanks

The absolute longest shock you can use for the rear is 14.5" IF your bumpstops are stilll in place (mine aren't).

so if my shocks extend to 20" and compress to 12.95" will that work with the coils i have? is it the shock itself that stops the down travel? and b/s for compress?

if you're worried about bottoming out the shocks, a jounce bumper (it slides over the shock shaft to prevent it from bottoming) on the shock will prevent that.

oh wait... you're talking about the rear... if the shock has a stud, then the jounce bumpers might work... if it has the 'eye' you can't install it.
