Shifter on '94 Auto will not engage
Hello,
I am new to the forum as well as my '94 SR5 4runner. I purchased the car strictly to use as desert/dirt bike carrier, and purchased it the other day and it showed no probs. Got out into the dirt today and when I tried to put it into drive it would not go. Fortunately, a friend of mine was nearby and had owned a '93 in the past. He showed me where the "shifter release" was and I was able to stick a key down into the hole and engage the shifter. Any idea what's going on would be appreciated? Also, are there mods that need to be done to these cars to make them perform that much better? i.e. little better acceleration and throttle resonse and exhaust sounds? Thanks for all the help.
Mike

That will require some research... replace it and see if it blows again, it might have been an old fuse.
If it blows again, it could be as simple as a screwy bulb or as bad as a hard to find short somewhere. You will have to spend a bit of quality time...
