shift lever seat problems
Good Day Gentlemen,
So recently my r150 stick started twisting on me, not allowing for easy engagenent of 5th or reverse. I have had to twist and hold the stick clockwise while shifting in order for it to go into gear. So today i pulled it all apart...
Is that all there is for the seat, that thin rubber ring at the bottom? I see marlin crawler has a much beefier seat you can install, but my other question before i go and buy one is the pins on the side are loose, allowing the ball of the stick to get under them and twist, which seems to be the source of the problem.
Marlins seat looks much taller... if i buy his seat and put it all back together, will it solve the issue?
Or should i save up for the short throw kit? I am not sure how tight those pins are supposed to be.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Sorry, I don't remember checking if the side pins were loose on my rigs when I installed the Marlin seat, though I think I might've taken notice if they were. Both times I used the Marlin seats there was actually nothing left of the original rubber in the shifter, it had crumbled and made it's way into the trans, I'm guessing. My shifter certainly has no twisting play in it now, but it did a little before.
Hope that helps at least a little, and for information I installed them in a '90 v6 Runner(R150 trans) and an '83 Pickup(L52 trans).

Thanks JohnnyBoy!
I think i will just order the new parts. Wouldn't be too difficult to tighten up those loose pins, and the seat is relatively inexpensive. Seems marlins short throw kit jumped in price!
