Parasitic(?) drain.

Configure your multi-meter for current(amps) tests, and connect it in place of fuses in the fuse-box to find out which circuit the problem is in. Once you know which circuit he problem is in you can start debugging it.

Likely something in the light/Dome fuse circuit but just a guess.

Did you have this problem before the alt/battery replacement?

To protect your battery do the test as soon as possible, and once you ID the circuit leave the problem fuse out unless you are driving the vehicle.

Red face

This is interesting I have seen this problem on several vehicles that were here . It can be a drain remember there are some drains such as the clock and the radio.

For some reason up grading the ground cables has completely eliminated the problem in my case.

Of course if your leaving the glove compartment light on or the mobile boom box powered up that is a different problem.

******When you mean completely drained you measure the voltage at the battery with a multimeter and it reads zero??****

How long must you keep the jumper cables hooked up till you have enough charge to start the truck????

You changed the alternator and the battery with out replacing the old worn out cables.

If the starter is on the way out contacts getting burnt it might need that extra boost to start when it is cold.
