I am wondering what it means if the timing doesnt change when I jump the TE1 and E1 terminals? I was reading the manual and following the steps but nothing happened. When I shoot the light on the crank pulley the timing is +15 or so. But shouldnt it be about 5 if I jump the terminals? I think this is why my throttle is hanging between shifts maybe becuase the timing isnt advancing and retarding like it should as RPM increase and decrease? Just guessing and would love some input on this. Thanks

Ive been trouble shooting the TPS for a week and it seems fine.

You should see the check engine light flashing if you jumped it correctly. One problem with jumping, since you obviously know the correct procedure, would be if the tabs in the TE1 & E1 terminals had gotten spread apart by someone who shoved too large a wire into them & your jumper isn't making good contact.

I would tug lightly on the jumper you're using after putting it into the terminals to be sure it's making a good contact, be sure the engine is fully warmed up before attempting to set the timing, be sure you don't have the A/C on & scour the engine compartment for any vacuum leaks. A vacuum leak can cause a lot of problems & these 3.0's have enough of them for sure.
