Searched, NG. Rear Axle seal replacement?
Doing my pre-winter checks on my '95, found oil in my LR drum. Classic axle seal failure.
- Anyone have a link for a write up?
- Should I do the bearing too?.................................................. ..................
- Toyota seal or will any do?

its a pretty simple replacement ..
1st off .. there is a diff vent .. right on the pumpkin . Check that , and make sure it's loose , so it will vent the pressure correctly . If the vent is not siezed , 9 times out of 10 , the bearing is the culprit .. so replace both .
I have bearings (toyotafiberglass.com) but , because your accross the county, i'm sure you can find them at your local parts store for about the same as me shipping them to you .. + the seals .. I always recommend the OE seal .

Seals can go, without the bearing being bad. I wouldn't replace the bearing unless it was noisy, or loose.

I'm getting a pair of these when I rebuild the rear axle for my project truck.
