Runnin Hot(er) than normal.
Well, ever since I've had my truck, unless I'm beatin it like a redheaded stepchild, the temp gauge would NEVER go above 1/4 up the termostat. Well last night I was just drivin back home cruisin about 70 for a good 20 minutes or so, and when I looked down before I got off the highway the tempgauge read at a hair under 3/4 the way to the top. Fluids were ok, and it ran fine other than a really wierd idle. When at a stop the rpm's would rise to ~1500 then fall off to round 800 then rise back up again to 1500 and do the same thing over and over again. Noticed the wierd idling when I noticed it was runner alot hotter than normal.
It's kinda got me stumped... Any thoughts?

Idle speed could just be too high and you are hitting the ECU fuel cutout when the brakes are on:

Well I did adjust the idle up a little bit because of the exact same thing. When braking from a good speed (50-60+), my truck would die out just before you came to a complete stop because of the fuel cutout. Guess I've just got to tinker with the screw to find a happy medium?
But... I adjusted up months ago, and this up and down rpm change at a stop has started just when my truck "seems" to be runnin hot. Caint help but think it's cause by that instead of coincidentally being something else happening at the same time. Dunno though, I'll try replacing the t-stat and see if it makes a difference! Thanks yall.
