Ruff cold start?
My 86 22re starts just fine when cold but stumbles and seems to miss until warmed up? It also runs a little high and then drops almost to no run then revs up and down unless I give it a little gas or until it warms up. When I give it a little throttle pedal when still cold this smooths out but when I let it back to idle on it own rpms drop then back up drop then back up? Once warmed up it seems to do fine. Wondering if someone can give me the most likely cause? Thanks

Yes I did indeed do a lot of searching before I posted. Most that I found had to do with warm start issues or no idle issues. Maybe I am not searching the question correctly. I have found useful info though for sure. I have two tech questions posted so far with quite a few views and no tech replies? Kinda wondering why? Anyway HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!

After rereading and rethinking my previous post I feel I should say what I have learned. I should probably do a complete tune up or at least check and make sure the spark plug gaps are correct as the plugs look to be new. New Ox sensor, valve adjustment, compression test, cold start switch and sensor, throttle body check and clean? Guess I am just looking for anything else specific and a confirmation of the direction I should go or check first? I also see that the control or computer box at the air filter box has been opened and resealed at some point in the past. Wondering if this was for some type of upgrade or some type of fix? We have only had this 86 Bandit mini motorhome pop top 22re 4 speed manual shift 93,000 original miles for about a month and on our first 2000 mile trip she drove and ran great but gave us wildly varying MPG anywhere from 12.5 cruising 60 to 65 on hilly 81 between Roanoke and Knoxville. 14 average on most of the trip with a best of just over 22 mpg cruising 55 on the flats between Memphis and Nashville. A range of 12.5 to 22 leads me to believe I do have something mechanical going on? She used less than a half quart of oil on the 2000 mile trip so this is GREAT! Thanks to all that chose to respond any and all input greatly appreciated! Peace out

A tune up would be a good idea, but I wouldn't take it as far as replacing the o2 sensor or adjusting the valves. I suggest looking at the FSM (link in my signature), getting a multimeter and checking ohms, starting at the AFM, TPS, etc.
It's best to check what you have and pinpointing the problem first before throwing parts at it and
