Rough Starting When Warm
The 95 4Runner; 3.0 has suddenly developed a warm starting problem. Cold starts are no problem and it runs OK; but after running for awhile and the engine is turned off; it's tough to start and has a burnt gas smell, idles really rough for awhile. The first time it is started when warm; it is rough to start. Wait twenty minutes; it starts and idles fine even though the temp gauge still reads operating temp.
It started to do this suddenly and runs and idles fine once it gets going. The only reason that might explain the sudden problem is it did start doing it after filling up with gas. Maybe bad gas? Actually, the first time it happened, I checked to make sure my gas cap wasn't missing.
Any ideas what might be causing this?

My '95 4Runner 3.0 is doing similar. Not hard to start, but it started running roughly and stalls out from idle if it's kinda medium warm. I'll be watching this thread to see how you work it out.

Yes, it's very strange. Runs fine except the first time I try to start it after running it for awhile. I'm really thinking bad gas. Won't be able to tell until I burn off this tank and get more gas.
Perfect timing; gotta drive up to Mt. Hood in a blizzard tomorrow morning.
