Rough Idle When Warm?
I've been having this problem recently. The truck will start fine if it's sits over night. If I'm driving it around town and stop to run and errand or whatever, when I start it again it idles super rough, dies, then idles rough until I begin driving. The truck is a 95 4Runner. Any ideas? Oh, and it stinks of gas when that happens but I’m not leaking anything.

This sounds kinda like the problem I just recently had. Is it taking longer to start it when it is cold? You didn't say but I'll assume you have the 3.slo. The problem could be a leaking dampner. The only way you will see this is with a mirror -- or lay under the passenger side and look up (while running) On the back end of the passenger side injector rail you will see a yellowish plastic bell shaped object. Look for a fuel leak from here. The part is available from Toyota ($130.)or you can get aftermarket ($80.) The bad news is you have to pull the intake off in order to replace the dampner (No way around it --I tried) Now that I have rambled-- If this is the problem?? It looks worse than it is. I started mine on a Saturday afternoon and finished Sunday morning.
If after you determine this is the problem and you feel like tackling this just Pm me and I'll help you through it. If you are willing to take some pictures this would be a good tech write up for the forum on a common problem with the 3.slo.
One more thing if you have a fuel leak from this spot you are at risk of a fire. not to try and scare you but it can happen.

What engine is in your truck?
It sounds like whatever the problem is, it is getting flooded out. I'm not aware of any common issues other than the TSB out on the older model trucks for a cold start injector timer switch.
Sounds like more of a mechanical issue rather than an electrical. Something along the line of a leaking injector (s).
I would doubt the fuel dampener as mentioned above, because if it were leaking, the engine wouldn't be getting the proper fuel pressure. You seem too rich.
If you can get a FP gauge, put it on, start the engine, shut it off, and watch the gauge. If it drops to almost 0 in a short amount of time, you know the fuel in the rail is going somewhere, and possibly into your intake.
Otherwise, its something telling the ECU to dump an excessive amount of fuel into the engine.

Yeah sorry it's got the 3.0. Come to think of it, I've had this problem for a while, use to happen every once in a while but now it's become more regular.
