roaring sound after rotor swap?
Hi guys, I replaced rotor on 1986 4x4, was more parts in that lock out hub then I thought! well It seemed like I got all back together ok.. Took her for a test drive, and started to get a roaring viberation sound? any ideas? hate to tear it back down,,maybe got wheel bearing too tight? Thanks.

Can you tell what side its coming from? Did you repack the bearings? Did you maybe tighten the axle nut too tight? It sounds like you have a bearing issue.

Thanks rbuchmann, yes it is right side, I just snuged tight the axle bolt with channel locks, then there was that funny looking lock washer that goes on next, then another axle bolt that according to repair book, I torqed that one tight.

Just drove to Dads house with hubs locked in and in 4x4 high, no noise at any speeds, but when hubs turned to "free unlocked" I get the noise at highway speeds?

Ok. Tool lock out cover off 10mm bolts. The gear is not coming out with cover and spring? It does on other side Could that problem? Thanks for any advice.
