The right stuff still gummy.

The right stuff still gummy.
I used the right stuff on my oil pan and had to take my pan back off after I realized my pan was bent. Well this was 2 or three days later that the rtv was on and it was still gummy and not completly dry.
Is that normal?

Gummy like sticky or gummy like flexible? Flexible is fine. Sticky might be too depending on what kind you used. Make sure it is compatible with oil or it may never cure.

old tube? i've always used either Permatex RTV or Toyota FIPG black, they always cure for me.
one-part silicones, like RTV in a tube, cure from the outside-in unlike the 2-part silicones that use a catalyst. IIRC it's moisture/humidity that it reacts with to cure the one-part silicone. If it's been squished in there and sealed up of course the center may be tacky still after a day or two, the moisture is trying to penetrate through cured/semi-cured RTV to get the the core - it could take a week to fully cure in some environments.
If you got a 100% failure of this RTV curing, then it's something else.

Right on. Yes cause some was dry but a lot not so much. I did do a test today and squirt some out the tube and if dried in no time. Maybe after I install the fipg I will put a heater on it. It's gonna be 30 low to 50 high this weekend when I attempt round two. Thanks for the responses.
