RHD manual transmission swap
Hey guys and gals,
I know the swap topic has been covered before, and I've read all the threads I can find that apply to the V6. But my truck being a Right-hand drive makes it a little more tricky...
Now... My truck is suppose to be a '91, even though I've never been able to find a manufacture date anywhere on it... Anyways... since getting it, I've found that it seems to have more in common with the 92 4Runner's than the 91's. That being said, the marlincrawler website has me a little confused/worried. On their page for a rebuilt R150F, under application, it lists 88-91, 92-95, 96-05. Now, in my searching and reading, I haven't come across anything that says there is a difference by year... So my concern is: If I get the manual out of a '90 4Runner, will it bolt up to my engine? Specifically, was there a change in the bell housing or how it bolts to the engine?
I'm not going to be buying a rebuilt from Marlin (I'm too cheap for that), I just don't want to end up buying a transmission that I can't bolt up because of a tiny change between 2 different years.. =P
