Rgh idle, pr mlg,fuel smll in crnkcse, lcks pwr
Hello All , thanks for your time. I need help. I recently rebuilt the top end of my 86 toy trk 22r auto tranny. it had a blown hg. I got everything torqued down to specs and such. prior to the take down it was running rough at idle and I thought it may be from HG because it had coolnt in oil. when I took it down i noticed the tubes that run along with the exhaust were comletely clogged up and I had to drill them out to get all the carbon out. When I took the head to get it worked I noticed that the tube that runs along the back of the head to where the EGR hooks up was also clogged with carbon. When I got it back and put it back together it runs fine after it warms up but acts like its running on 3 cylinders at idle and after I drive it for a while and it warms up it idles fine. It also lacks power during accleration. It is getting absolutely terrible gas mileage, I drove 35 miles and used up almost a 1/2 tank of gas. I also have a smell of fuel when I pull the dipstick. I read the haynes manual and everything I read points to EGR, which makes sense due to all the clogged carbon. but I talk to mech. and they tell me to check the fuel pump as well as the EGR. Does anyone have a clue? PLEASE PLEASE HELP I HAVE LIMITED FUNDS TO SPEND
