Retrofitting A/c on a 91 4runner

Hey guys, so I'm retrofitting from r12 to r134 on my 91 4runner 3.0, and I just had a question. Do need I to remove the original service valves or can I screw the new ones onto the old ones? Unfortunatly I lost the directions to the retrofit kit. Thanks.

Should screw on the old ones, mine did.. I don't remember if the directions said so or not but i had take the valve core out of the low side port, then screw the 134 service port on..
