Retighten head bolts?

Retighten head bolts?

Supposed to be a new 22RE in my 86 truck..now has about 1100 miles on it..Do the head bolts have to be retightened?

Technically, you should. Get a torque wrench and make sure they are still in spec. Make sure you torque them in the proper sequence, starting inwards to out.

You may as well check/adjust the valve clearances while you are in there too.

but don't check/adjust the valve lash before re-torquing the head bolts as re-torquing them might mess with valve lash. unlikely but possible.
