Replacing water Pump on 90 pickup 4x4 3V6 what else should i do while in there

Hi, first post. i found a huge leek in my water pump and need to replace it. On these engines the pump is attached to the timing belt soi figured while i was replacing i might as well do whatever else was in there(pump, belt, thermostat ect.) I was just wondering what other thing would beworth my while to do while i had the front of the engine off.
thanks guys.

Many replace the idler pulleys, but you could wait to "feel" them. If you can feel anything at all when you turn them, you should probably replace them. If you're pressed for time and want to just get it done, you can buy kits with the belt and pulleys. E.g.: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Toyota-Pick-Up-3-0L-SOHC-V6-3VZE-Timing-Belt-Water-Pump-/220698513094?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Make%3AToyota&hash=item3362a80ec6&vxp=mtr (I've used THIS kit so I can't say if it is any good. Note that this kit is for the spring-type idler; my '94 has the later hydraulic type.)

Most important of all, you will need a tool to keep the crank from turning when you remove the crank bolt, to remove the crank sprocket. Some will suggest you use the starter with a wrench laying on the frame. It probably works (if you like excitement!), but it won't do YOU any good because you still need to put the bolt back in. No, you can't just hit it with your impact wrench; the spec is 181 ftlbs, and if your impact can get that high then it can get a lot higher! My favorite tool (or course) is: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...h-3vze-137934/, but there are many clever shop built designs on this site. (You can even buy the real tool: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lexus-Toyota-Crankshaft-Crank-Harmonic-Damper-Pulley-Holding-Holder-Tool-/261476998254?hash=item3ce13e5c6e&item=261476998254&pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&vxp=mtr)

Remove the Harmonic balancer bolt in 4th gear

Assuming you have a 5 speed R154 transmission you can set the parking brake, slide the gear box into 4th which splines the input and out put shafts together. This doesn't use any gears or load the counter shaft in the gear box so some of the back lash is removed. When you put the spud wrench and 1/2 inch drive socket with 3/4 or 19 mm the turning takes a few clicks before the drive train stiffens and with a pipe on the end of the spud the machine screw will loosen. Can do this to tighten it as well. For those with automatics a holder for the pulley is probably the answer or using the starter motor to get it off. But then you still need to tighten it after servicing things.
