Replacing E-Choke Aisin Carb with M-Choke Weber
I plan to replace the stock electric choke Aisin on my 22R with a manual choke Weber 32/36.
Anyone done this? Any tips for me? I assume I will need to run the manual choke mechanism through the firewall and mount it inside the cab. Are there electric choke mechanisms that used to travel to the Aisin that I will leave unused? If there are, should these things be removed, or can the just be left in place simply not hooked up to the carb?
Also, are there vacumn lines that I will no longer use? I know I can optionally desmog the truck to a maximum degree and remove almost every vacumn line, but what is the minimal desmoging that I can do? Do I have to remove the EGR valve or can it be left to be used with the Weber?
Lastly, do I need a separate fuel pressure regulator with the Weber 32/36? Or is this optional?

here is a great link to kawazx636's write up that has some great info on what you are doing, https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f114...torial-264405/

Thank you for that. I have indeed seen that thread and read much of it in the past. However, I do not wish to do a "desmog". I only wish to remove as little of the vacuum lines and smog equipment necessary for installation of the weber.
