Replacing an Automatic Window Regulator with Manual Crank
Hey fellow Yota'ers.
So I've done some extensive searching and can't find the answers I'm looking for. Hence this being the first time I've actually had to post! This website is amazing for problem solving...
So here's the deal. I put my truck on her side a few months ago (I attached the picture for your amusement) and finally found a good deal on a door to replace the one I caved in; the only catch was that is was automatic. Since I knew how much money I would be saving I decided that the labour to change the door over would be well worth it... that is until I found no such knowledge on the net which is usually my savior.
So, first post everyone. I hope you can help me out! Automatic window to manual. Got all the automatic parts ripped out. I'm thinking of just cutting out the shell of the old one to see how it works but would like to avoid it.
HELP!
Thanks,
Matt The Cat

I did this on my 87 4runner - the power window stopped working and I could not find a new motor at the time.
I just bought a handle, new regulator (make sure you specify vented or non vented windows - they are different), and pulled out the old and bolted in the new - no cutting required.
I did have to cut a hole in the door panel for the manual handle, that's all....
pretty easy job. I'd just swap in your old door panel, and bolt in the old regulator parts to the new door - should fit if a first gen....
