replacement head
#1
I was looking into an aftermarket head for my 88. I wanted to squeeze some power out of this little engine, any recommendations? Looking into Cams as well. Anything to allow me to cruise on the highway without being a hazard to other drivers

I used an engnbldr 268 cam and rv head on my 87, and I am really happy with the results for sure. The rv head has oversize stainless valves and its a better casting than the original with a little bigger runners.
The 268 cam gives a great lil lope at idle and with good header will pull much better from off idle all the way to 4500 or so. I dont run it till it screams either.
Theres pics in my thread for the 87 that came home.

I'm in the middle of a HG replacement and if my head is warped, I'm going with Hilux's set up - just ask him - he's already trying to convince me mine is cracked/warped
If I had to get a head/cam, I'd go ENGNBLDR 100%
