Replaced the pilot bushing and lever seat

Did these on Sunday. Got mine from my "local" dealer. They had to order them, but got 'em in two days.

Wasn't exactly a 10 minute job, but 30 minutes. Not bad for someone not very mechanically inclined. My biggest problem was getting the rubber gasket/seals up over the shifters. The parts guy even printed me out a little parts schematic, and told me how to do it.

Boy does it shift nice. My '91 4Runner has 158,700 something miles on it. I am guessing this should have been done 70,000 miles ago.

The ring looking one was basically disintegrated. The one on the end of the shifter was still there, just had the round end all grooved.

My ony question: The ring had two sides, one rubber, one plastic like. The plastic (side up) had 4 grooves. Not sure if these where lined up with anything, since the old one was non existent. But it shifts fine so far, so I am guessing it is OK. I hope.

I am glad I came across the old post about this simple fix!!

Thanks.
